What is Chair Yoga?
- The chair replaces the mat, allowing for greater accessibility and stability

Who is Chair Yoga for?
- People of all ages and abilities that find traditional yoga uncomfortable and/or inaccessible
- Older adults, people with physical limitations and/or restrictions
- People with health issues such as high blood pressure, anxiety, fatigue, arthritis, vertigo, multiple sclerosis, menopause, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, and chronic pain

About Annette Wertman
As a Baby Boomer, Annette is passionate about embracing aging. After all “You are only old once!” Annette believes that yoga provides this opportunity. “Through the practice of yoga, the body, mind and soul connect to live each day to its fullest potential”.
Annette’s teaching reflects over 30 years of experience working with children and adults of all abilities and challenges. Annette simply inspires.
Annette is a registered music therapist and certified yoga instructor, currently completing the requirements for an M.A. in Gerontology at Simon Fraser University. She teaches Chair Yoga through Yoga Outreach, the Kits Community Center, the Jewish Community Center, South Burnaby Neighborhood House, and also privately. She also presents workshops for the Canadian Association of Gerontology, the Canadian Nurses Association, the International Council on Active Ageing, the Council of Senior Citizens’ Organizations of BC and BC Recreation and Parks Board.
